A social worker is expected to front up today for questioning over an allegation that he assaulted a 15-year-old boy at a police station.
The boy, Robert Stuart, who was a ward of the state, was reportedly left with a bleeding nose after the incident at the Richmond police station, near Nelson, this month.
The social worker has been suspended from his duties, and Child Youth and Family says it is taking the incident "extremely seriously".
Detective Senior Sergeant Wayne McCoy said, "There are some discrepancies, and we want to give the social worker the opportunity to respond."
