Top NZ cyclist Hayden Roulston has failed in his bid to overturn his conviction on two assault charges arising from behaviour while celebrating his selection for last year's Athens Olympics.
Roulston, 24, feared the criminal convictions could prevent him taking up the chance to ride in champion cyclist Lance Armstrong's team. The fears came to nothing when authorities let him enter the US.
