KEY POINTS:
A 63-year-old woman cyclist was punched in the face and thrown off a bridge in the Auckland suburb of Remuera this morning.
Police said the woman was riding her bike over the southern bridge in Waiatarua Reserve about 7.45am when a man on the bridge attacked her.
Police Inspector Earle McIntosh said the man threw the woman into the water below and then threw her bike at her.
Police are calling for witnesses to the attack.
The offender is described as Maori or Polynesian, aged between 30 and 40, of a fat build and 6ft 4 inches tall.
