An extensive search of Belmont Regional Park north of Wellington has failed to find any sign of a mountain cyclicst missing since yesterday.
Detective Sergeant Nick Pritchard said police would today focus on other lines of inquiry in the search for 43-year-old Lance Kaiki, last seen around 2.20pm when he went for a ride through the park.
Mr Kaiki's wife was growing increasingly worried about her husband.
He is around 173 centimetres tall, of medium build with dark coloured hair. He was last seen wearing a green Kathmandu long-sleeved top, blue jeans and white sports shoes. He also had a baby-blue backpack with two shoulder straps, two pockets on either side, a pocket at the front and a normal zip compartment.
He was riding a blue Jamis bike in good condition.
