A young cyclist has been killed on his way to school in Gisborne this morning.
The boy, believed to be in his early teens, collided with a heavy truck at a roundabout at the corner of Stanley Road and Childers Road.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have started an investigation into the accident and the roundabout remained closed today for some time.
The boy was a Year 9 student at Campion College.
