A cyclist killed in a hit-and-run in West Auckland on Friday night has been identified as 50-year-old Henderson resident David John Caldwell.
Detective sergeant Mike Clubb said the driver of the vehicle involved in Mr Caldwell's death had been identified, however the investigation into the incident, which occurred on
Universal Drive in Henderson just before 10pm, was ongoing.
Anyone who saw a four-door Honda Accord's around the Lincoln Rd, Universal Drive and Central Park Drive between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Friday should contact police on 09 839 0662.
