A cyclist was hit by a vehicle near Hamilton this morning, who didn't stop.
Police said the motorist struck the cyclist from behind and did not stop to check whether the cyclist was injured.
The crash happened on Whatawhata Road, near an intersection with Cemetery Road, on the outskirts of Hamilton, about 7:40am.
The cyclist was taken from the scene by ambulance in a stable condition.
The vehicle involved was described as a silver Holden Astra 1998 - 2008 model, police said.
