Fastest time on the night went to Johnny Burkhart (4.06) from Brett Tulloch (4.10) and Johnny's brother Luke (4.12). Lesley Mouat led the women home (5.02) followed by Emily Luytens (5.05) and Donna Burkhart (5.18). Close times were posted through the entire field with the usual individual successes and disappointments.
Riders then raced in the mass start road races over one lap of the testing and varied Pakaraka circuit, starting and finishing in Watsons Rd.
As usual the A grade riders competed hard and this time it was Luke Burkhart who crossed first in 31.35.
Brett Tulloch and Johnny Burkhart were a second behind meaning the same three riders shared the podium for each of the two events, if in slightly different order.
The B grade riders also had an excellent race although, somehow, the usual A grader Derick Cox was there from the beginning and put the pressure on throughout.
Three riders crossed in 34.40, Wills Kent, Donna Burkhart and Emily Luytens. C grade also competed with Bruce McCallum (42.19) leading home Lotte Willemstein (42.24) and Belinda Fuller (42.34).
As in most weeks a good group of marshals kept time and kept the road safe for both drivers and cyclists.
