Junior pupils at South End School are ringing their way to safer cycling and scootering.
Masterton Police Youth Education Constables Sue Esler and Keely Riwai-Couch on Wednesday led the entire school roll of 122 pupils through bicycle and scooter safety lessons, says school secretary Elaine Scully.
She said lessons were held for each class throughout the day and the junior students were each presented with a bell for their bike or scooter.
The Ora Toa Health Unit in Porirua had donated the bells, she said, for which pupils and staff at the school were most grateful.
"The pupils were really rapt and were ringing their bells all day long."
