Marlborough secondary school students face bigger class sizes and cutbacks in subjects because of underfunding and a downturn in the number of international students, principals say.
Marlborough Girls' College principal Greta Firth said the ministry was "failing to maintain the standards of funding".
"Support staff have been given a 2.5 per cent raise, but we've only had a 1.8 per cent increase in the operations budget."
