Cut hours save 538 jobs

The nine-day fortnight scheme, which gives employers a subsidy if they agree to reduce hours rather than make people redundant for six months, has saved 538 jobs since it was announced at Prime Minister John Key's "jobs summit" in March, Work and Income said yesterday.
