Three customers who tackled an armed woman bank robber in south Auckland yesterday have earned the praise of police.
A knife-wielding woman entered a Panmure bank about 11am and handed a note to a teller.
After a small amount of cash was handed over the three customers, all men, wrestled her to the ground.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin Hooper said they held her there until police arrived. One of the trio received a knife wound to his leg.
Police later charged a 24-year-old unemployed woman with aggravated robbery.
