A 41-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with a series of offences against elderly people.
Shane Michael Woodcock, of Riccarton, has entered no pleas to two charges of demanding to steal, and seven charges of obtaining by deception.
No bail application was made by defence counsel Rupert Glover when Woodcock made a brief appearance before Judge Philip Moran in the Christchurch District Court today.
Woodcock was remanded in custody to April 1.
He is charged with demanding cash from the same woman, with intent to steal it, twice in October last year.
He is also charged with using deception to get several people to give him cash, a bank card, and cheques, since June last year.
