Wairarapa senior men's cricket captain Sam Curtis has been a huge success story with the bat for Oxted and Limpsfield in division one of this year's Surrey championship. Curtis kept Oxted and Limpsfield in line for promotion in the one-day competition when he scored 67 off 106 balls in their latest match against Chobham, guiding his side to a respectable 166 on a wicket clearly favouring the bowlers, Something Chobham found to their dismay when they were bowled all out for just 36 in reply, Curtis taking three of the catches.
Curtis is averaging a magnificent 104.8 in league games, having scored three centuries and being not out on six occasions, while his average in all games, including Twenty20s, is 74.67.
Curtis is due to return to Wairarapa next month and will again be leading defending two-day and one-day champions Lansdowne on the local scene in the 2009-10 season.
Curtis a huge success
