A foul-mouthed chef with a thick accent, who served up a tirade to customers before booting them out, calls himself Georgio Cinderella. But he's actually a failed 61-year-old restaurateur named Colin Cloudesley.
The chef stunned patrons at Piccolo Ristorante Italiano in Christchurch last month when he told customers to "f*** off" after a woman complained her order was wrong. But restaurant owner Peter Blacklaws has confirmed Cloudesley and Cinderella are one and the same.
"It's up to him what he wants to call himself. It's nothing to do with me, I'm quite upset about the whole thing." Blacklaws admitted he had sanctioned Cloudesley's fake persona because it fitted with the restaurant's Italian theme.
However, Cloudesley, who left debts of $180,000 after his Queenstown Italian restaurant failed, continued to deny he was Cinderella. "As far as I know I'm Colin Cloudesley."
