Wanaka's Braden Currie has won his first title at the Coast to Coast Longest Day.
Currie has held off a late charge from defending champion Richard Ussher to be the first man into Sumner Beach.
"It's the best day of my life, I think.
"It's incredible, it's just the best day out there and the outcome is unbelievable for me."
Sophie Hart beat Elina Ussher to secure her second victory in the womens' race.
