A 32-year-old woman arrested for allegedly streaking before thousands of people at the New Zealand Trotting Cup at Addington Raceway last Tuesday is being considered for the diversion scheme for first offenders.
Hayley Scheerhoorn was charged with disorderly behaviour and had been due to appear before a judge at Christchurch District Court this afternoon - six days after she was photographed allegedly stripping down to her underwear and baring her breasts at the racing showcase.
However the interior designer was granted a remand on bail by the registrar for another appearance at Nga Hau e Wha marae court on November 25 on the disorderly behaviour charge, which can only result in a sentence of a fine being imposed.
Scheerhoorn, of St Albans, will be eligible to apply to the police for diversion, which means she could apologise and make a payment to charity.
