The sentencing of a man who torched his car in central Wellington's pedestrian Cuba St has been delayed.
Christopher Palenski, 40, was due to be sentenced in Wellington District Court this morning but it was adjourned so the suitability of a home detention address could be assessed.
In February Palenski pleaded guilty to arson after he set his car on election day last year.
The fire was captured on video by passersby in the busy mall where people were shopping and dining at cafes.
Palenski also pleaded guilty to two unrelated charges of threatening to kill.
