CTV Families are seeking legal advice on how to force the police to review their decision not to prosecute over the deaths of their loved ones.
In a press conference today, family spokesperson Maan Alkaisi said they also want a meeting with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern before Christmas.
Alkaisi, who lost his wife when the CTV building collapsed during the February 2011 earthquake, says Japanese families in contact with the CTV families are also seeking support from their government.
The families are holding a peaceful protest in Latimer Square, Christchurch this Sunday. They say they won't be silenced by the police decision not to prosecute over the deaths of their loved ones.
After a three-year investigation costing more than $1 million the NZ Police have decided not to lay charges in the CTV building collapse - saying there's not enough strong evidence.
