Tiara-wearing Miss World New Zealand contestants showed they were no easy beats in a wheelchair rugby match against the Wheel Blacks yesterday.
No score was kept of the encounter at the Otara Spinal Unit but Wheel Blacks captain Dan Buckingham said his team were impressed by the women's ability.
"You could see their athleticism and fitness, we weren't playing easy beats."
Rachel Hope Crofts from Wellington thought the Wheel Blacks softened their game "slightly" but still likened the game to a ride in bumper cars.
The game was organised to raise awareness of both the Wheel Blacks and Miss World New Zealand.
