Venues where Russell Crowe smoked during his recent tour of New Zealand have been sent letters reminding them of their obligations under the smokefree legislation.
The Oscar-winning actor and part-time rocker lit up on stage in Auckland, Wellington and Leigh, north of Auckland, angering some concertgoers.
Chief Adviser of Public Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, says letters have been sent to all venues, reminding them of their requirements under the Smokefree Environments Act 1990.
The Ministry of Health will not press charges against the bars. Dr Bloomfield says they were isolated incidents.
