A Marton man has admitted robbing two Manawatu banks while dressed as a woman.
James Shevan Cassidy, 34, unemployed, appeared in Palmerston North District Court yesterday, the Manawatu Standard reported.
Cassidy admitted robbing $4300 from Feilding's Kiwibank on June 29 and also robbing $835 from a Palmerston North Kiwibank on July 9.
After the Feilding bank robbery, police said the suspect "could easily be mistaken for a woman".
One woman saw the high-heeled robber run past her cafe and it was quite odd to see a "woman" running so fast, she said.
Judge Les Atkins remanded Cassidy in custody until sentencing on September 9.
