A Hawke's Bay woman out for an evening walk was grabbed by a man in what police have called a "sexually motivated" attack, but managed to get away.
The victim was walking in Napier's Anderson Park about 6.30pm on Friday February 24 when a stranger ran up from behind and grabbed her, police say.
The woman, who was shaken but unhurt, fled across York Ave and up Park Rd, towards Avondale Rd.
Police are now appealing for help from the public to find the alleged attacker.
The woman told police the offender was a 6ft tall Caucasian man aged in his 20s, with brown hair. He was wearing dark baggy shorts, a dark singlet and was barefoot but carrying jandals.
