Three youths stole confectionery from the Harper St dairy on Sunday.
Three youths who stole lollies from the Harper St dairy in Gonville were tracked down by a police dog unit.
A police spokeswoman said three young males, carrying a fake firearm, entered the store about 3.30pm on Sunday, June 10, and allegedly demanded money. They made off with confectionery. Apolice dog unit located the trio nearby.
Whanganui Police were speaking with the youths and no charges had yet been laid, the spokeswoman said.
No-one was injured in the incident.
The dairy owner did not want to comment, saying it was a minor incident involving "young kids".
