KEY POINTS:
Napier police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged abduction and sexual assault of a schoolboy in Maraenui this morning.
Police have arrested a 44-year-old Auckland man in connection with the incident, and he will appear in the Napier District Court tomorrow morning, facing charges of abduction, sexual violation, and indecent assault.
Detective Senior Sergeant Bill Gregory said a 14-year-old schoolboy had been forced into a car at the corner of Geddis Ave and Fleming Cres about 7.45am.
He was taken to a nearby house and sexually assaulted.
Police wished to hear from anyone who saw a white four door Nissan Primera car driven by a Samoan man in the area this morning, or who saw the victim, described as a Samoan boy wearing a school uniform, being forced into the car.
While the boy was traumatised by the ordeal, he was unhurt and was now with his family, Mr Gregory said.
