KEY POINTS:
A man who took his 11-year-old son on a burglary stood shame-faced in the dock of Palmerston North District Court yesterday.
Steven Peter Urlich, 54, took his son to Mitsi Bits Auto Parts on December 11 and broke in about dusk, the Taranaki Daily News reported. He stole tyres, which his son helped to hide. Police caught Urlich returning for them.
Judge Barry Morris said he should be ashamed of using his son as an apprentice. He sentenced Urlich to 280 hours' community work.
