A man has appeared in court for stealing more than $27,600 from 29 people over a course of three months.
Rakesh Kamal, 51, of Manurewa, appeared in the Manukau District Court yesterday on 29 charges of taking various amounts of money by deception and without claim of right, causing a loss to the victim.
The offending took place over three months, all in Manurewa, starting on June 15 until September 15 and in total Kamal obtained $27,675.
The most taken at one time was allegedly $2100.
Kamal first appeared yesterday and his next appearance is in two weeks.
