A man has been hospitalised in Waikato this morning after he was stabbed in the neck.
Police and ambulance were called to attend an incident on George St in Matamata about 3am after reports that a male had been stabbed.
The 23-year-old was taken to Waikato Hospital with an injury to his neck.
A Waikato Hospital spokeswoman said the man was in a stable condition and being treated.
Police said they were not aware of anyone in custody and Waikato CIB were investigating.
