A former brother from St John of God has been committed to stand trial on historical sex abuse allegations.
Following a depositions hearing in the Christchurch District Court, 71-year-old Roger Moloney will face a trial on 26 charges dating back to his time at Christchurch's Maryland's School in the 1970s.
Moloney is one of two Catholic clergymen successfully extradited from Australia last year.
Judge Somerville has suppressed the number of complainants involved, the precise nature of the charges and reasons counsel sought the suppression orders.
Moloney will reappear on October 12 for a pre-trial hearing.
