A 3am drunken yelling match in the middle of the street has earned one man a community work sentence.
Kadin Parekura Connell and his partner were in Hackett St at 3am on July 9, both intoxicated, the Whanganui District Court heard on Tuesday.
The pair were in the middle of the street, yelling at each other, police prosecutor Sergeant Drew Morrison said.
When police arrived, Connell's partner was lying on the ground, crying.
Connell refused to stop yelling, and woke several nearby residents. He yelled and swore at police despite being warned to stop, Mr Morrison said.
