A man will be sentenced next month for growing cannabis in the family flat.
Three children also lived in the building where Louis John Ratahi Gardiner set up his grow room, police prosecutor Sergeant Stephen Butler said in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
Police arrived at the flat on June 5 for a domestic-related incident, but soon discovered the growing room, which had a number of plants in it, as well as a glass pipe used for meth consumption.
Mr Butler said there were "light and timers and switches" set up in the room.
Gardiner pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis and possessing utensils for meth.
