And the man who was stabbed in the Te Atatū Peninsula incident has survived surgery after being seriously injured, a relative of his said.
He had stepped in to help a friend who was attacked and stomped, the relative claimed.
Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Williams of Waitemata West Police said search warrants were carried out at Te Atatū and West Harbour addresses on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a family member of the stabbed man said his relative was now recovering after two surgeries over the weekend.
"I just thank God," he said when describing the injured man's survival.
The 26-year-old was allegedly stabbed shortly after midnight on Saturday.
The relative previously said the injured man did not even know he'd been stabbed and staggered home before realising the extent of his injuries.
His relative said Auckland City Hospital staff were helpful, the surgery happened late on Saturday, and many people went to visit the injured man at his bedside.
"They were running out of seats."
The relative understood two surgeries were needed after the man was allegedly stabbed in the side, near the lungs.
Police asked anyone with information about the alleged stabbing to phone 105 and quote file number 201114/2814.
