The saying about "girls can do anything" is ringing true in the Wairarapa junior boys' fifth grade cricket competition.
Heading the points table with an unbeaten record are the Wairarapa College first XI girls' team, who have won three from three there, and a non-competition fixture against St Matthew's Collegiate to boot.
First up they had a nail-biter with Kuranui College, victory being achieved by Wairarapa College in the last over.
Highlight of that performance was 32 scored by ace batswoman Melissa Hansen.
The match with St Matthew's Collegiate followed and that produced a convincing win for the Wairarapa College squad.
