Firefighters were called to a small fire in a house in South Wairarapa early yesterday.
The fire, just before 7am, was in a Hinakura Rd, Te Muna, home. Martinborough fire chief Garry Jackson said the fire was confined to a fireplace.
"The whole fireplace was glowing, I think it was a dirty chimney," he said.
Nothing else was damaged and firefighters were back at the station within an hour.
