A fire broke out in a downtown Auckland tower this afternoon.
The Fire Service told the Herald six fire crews were fighting the blaze on the 10th floor of the Quay St building.
Two more fire crews arrived later, after the fire was first reported at 1.50pm.
The Fire Service
said the fire has since been contained but four crews have remained at the scene.
The blaze began in a records room in the 16-storey building, which holds both apartments and offices, the Fire Service said.
