KEY POINTS:
A 56-year-old Polish crewman suffered oil burns to an arm and leg in an electrical fire on board a container ship off North Cape yesterday.
The man was airlifted from the Albret Rickmers by the Northland Electricity rescue helicopter and flown to Whangarei Hospital in a moderate condition.
The ship, which left Auckland for Sydney yesterday, was drifting last night but the crew were confident of restoring power.
