Crashes end Auckland police pursuits

Two people were taken to hospital after a stolen car crashed into a barrier during a police chase in Auckland yesterday.

The pursuit started at 12.20pm in One Tree Hill.

Police said the car was chased along the Southwestern Expressway towards Manukau.

Just south of the Roscommon Rd part of the motorway the car hit the concrete median. It skidded across the motorway and into a bridge.

Four people in the car ran off but police caught them.

Last night, a vehicle being pursued near Huntly crashed into a police car.

The officers escaped injury but abandoned the pursuit.
