A serious motorcycle crash near Thames left the rider with serious head injuries yesterday.
Inspector Ian Brooker of the police northern communications centre said it appeared the motorcyclist had lost control of his bike at the Kopu turn-off, 6km southeast of Thames.
The man, aged about 40, was flown by helicopter to Waikato Hospital with serious head injuries.
