Warren was due to marry to TeRina Borrell next Saturday at Raglan.
A Givealittle page has been set up by Borrell's older niece, Sonya Stott.
Speaking to the Herald about the pair, Stott described them as "best friends".
"They did everything together - you'd literally never see them apart."
Everything had been in place for their wedding in Raglan - they had hired a resort and were all set to go.
"They were going to go all out - because they were only going to do it once," Stott said.
"It's a sad time, because they had their whole lives ahead of them."
Stott described Borrell as being "really strong" under the circumstances.
"She's got a lot of family and friends providing support around her at the moment… But she's literally lost the love of her life."
"You can't say she's good, that would be a lie. But she's doing okay for now. "
Warren had been a friend of everybody and was well-liked in the small town.
On Givealittle page Borell is described as Warren's "high school sweetheart and soul mate".
"This young couple had their whole lives ahead of them and what was supposed to be the happiest time of her life is now a devastating time," it says.
"They were inseparable, best friends who did everything together as well as being full time carers for her elderly father Dave who suffers from advanced Alzheimer's."
Friends of the couple set up the page, which has had more than $2760 donated so far.
The funds would help Borrell with funeral costs and any other financial struggles she was facing.
