KEY POINTS:
A major crash in south Auckland has led to the closure of a road near Auckland Airport and police are urging travellers to factor in delays.
Puhinui Road has been closed to traffic from the South Western Expressway to Tom Pearce Drive and emergency services are at the scene of the crash.
"This closure will effect all traffic intending to travel to and from Auckland Airport to South Auckland Destinations," Inspector William Taylor said.
He warned motorists to expect major delays in the area and to avoid travel if possible.
