A collision between a Pinfolds lorry and car on Pahiatua's main street spun the car into a garden late on Tuesday night.
Bush Telegraph editor Steve Carle, who was working at the paper, heard a loud bang at around 11.15pm and saw a truck "pull up pretty quickly" at an intersection.
The truck driver said the other driver, a woman, had "staggered" from the car, with a visible injury to the top of her head.
Ambulance, police and the Pahiatua Fire Brigade attended the scene.
Fire crew were able to pull a steel bumper away from the truck's front left wheel so it could be moved to a truck trailer yard for the night. It was driven to a Masterton panelbeaters yesterday.
