KEY POINTS:
The pilot of a microlight aircraft escaped with minor injuries after crash-landing at Tauranga Airport today.
Airport manager Ray Dumble said it appeared the aircraft may have caught a wind gust at a crucial time during landing and flipped over after one wheel dug into the runway at about 11.30am.
Mr Dumble said the pilot gave himself a shock and was treated for injuries believed to be relatively minor.
The aircraft's wing was badly buckled but it was not beyond repair.
