KEY POINTS:
Six people were injured - three seriously - in a crash in Turangi last night. The collision, between a car and a 4WD, happened at the intersection of Waiotaka Rd and State Highway 1 about 9.20pm.
St John executive Murray Bannister said the Lion Foundation helicopter from Taupo and the Baytrust helicopter from Rotorua flew the three worst hurt to hospital.
Another three with moderate injuries were taken by ambulance to Taupo Hospital.
