Crash in South Auckland brings down powerlines

A car has a hit a power pole in South Auckland this morning, causing powerlines to fall and block the road.

Police were alerted to the crash on the corner of Mcannalley St and Great South Rd in Manurewa, about 11.20am.

Diversions are in place and authorities are working to remove the power lines.

A police spokesman said no one appears to have been injured.
