A Martinborough man is facing firearms and driving charges after a sawn-down "pistol" was found at the scene of a crash on Colombo Rd, Masterton, last Sunday.
During Sunday's incident, the driver of a Subaru Outback allegedly attempted to overtake on the inside and clipped a vehicle turning into Iorns
Rd.
One driver was uninjured but the driver of the Subaru had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Shannon Hoani Martin, 36, was charged with taking a Subaru Outback, unlawful possession of a pistol which had been cut down from a single-barrel .410 shotgun, possession of ammunition, driving while forbidden and dangerous driving.
He was excused from appearing in the Masterton District Court yesterday.
