Crash downs power lines in south Canterbury

A crash involving a truck and a car has downed power lines on State Highway 1 in south Canterbury.

Emergency services were currently at the scene of the crash near the town of Morven, 34km northeast of Oamaru, police said.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman told NZPA no one was injured in the crash.

A detour was currently in place and police did not know how long the road would remain closed.
