A St John ambulance spokesman said a 43-year-old woman suffered a possible fractured arm, a 40-year-old woman suffered neck pain, a 45-year-old woman suffered minor injuries to her ribs and pain to her abdomen, and a 35-year-old woman had pain to her knee.
The female driver and sole occupant of the car was also taken to hospital with chest injuries.
All patients are understood to be from Maketu.
