One person has been killed in a crash in Whakatane this morning.
Police said it happened shortly before 7.30am on State Highway 30 in Te Teko.
It is not yet known what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
The death brings the weekend road toll to three.
A 23-year-old Nelson man died yesterday afternoon in a collision between a truck and car at Richmond.
A 21-year-old man was killed late on Friday night when the car he was a back-seat passenger in crashed on State Highway 2 near Waihi.
