Crash after youths flee police

Four youths are likely to face charges after a short, high-speed chase ended when a stolen car crashed on Auckland's North Shore early today.

Police said the pursuit began on Constellation Drive and headed north on the northern motorway before the driver of the stolen car lost control as he tried to leave the motorway at Dairy Flat.

The four fled but the driver was caught soon after and the other three were found by a police dog patrol.

Police said the four would face charges.

None of the four was believed to be badly hurt.
