A Raglan harbourside property comes with an amphibious set of wheels

The new owners of a $1.1 million property overlooking Raglan Harbour will also be able to travel around in style.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house for sale on Te Akau Wharf Rd sits in 2.4ha of bush and has its own private deep-water anchorage.

Driving to Raglan takes about an hour, but whoever buys the property, which has a CV of $960,000, will be able to make it in about five minutes thanks to a brand new Sealegs 6.1R amphibious marine craft, valued at more than $100,000.

Sealegs have lifting wheels, allowing passengers to be driven from land into the water without getting their feet wet.

"We think it's a real deal-maker," said Geoff Barnett, national manager of Century 21 New Zealand.

The offer is in collaboration with Sealegs International, an Auckland company which makes amphibious vehicles.

"In real estate generally we're seeing more businesses getting together to jointly promote their products," Barnett said.

"I have no doubt that in the end it will be this initiative that will have sparked the initial intrigue and interest for the purchaser."

But he added: "This property well and truly stands on its very own legs." The listing for the property says its second level is "60 per cent completed". The buyer and seller can come to an arrangement over "finishing touches".
